As days grew dark, the shadows of our souls
Turned inside out with omnipotence
Those who claimed victory, buried under their thrones
They betrayed us all, The Burning so long ago
Blessed gift now lost from heart
Man turned upon his own
How we fought, desire forging the will
The masses at war, Brethren slain, blood stained unity
Flesh broken, wood, stone, iron, their spirits gone
All the while we blamed:
"Upon our hands," "Their hands it was!"
The past would not be forgot, this day or any day to come
One winter's frost, it came
Snow fell on fields of red
"Look up high!"
"A northern sun?!"
"It cannot be!"
So warm the breeze, the horizon ablaze
Echoing screams were heard, silenced at time's end
See how the forests flee in fear!
Run, run from the sky, Flames in the Wind
One star, it wept above
